It took us a while to leave Australia. We intended to leave in 2009 but the economy was too poor in the UK or US to consider it. So we stayed another year. Then at the beginning of 2010, we decided it was time. So we put in Rob’s visa application (thanks for my UK passport Dad), waited 6 weeks for the approval and were in NZ a month later. In the middle of May 2010, Rob and I left Melbourne, which had been our home for 4 years. We have a few get togethers before we left, but the drinkies the night before we went was brilliant. One of our last adventures in Australia before we left was to go up to Lindeman Island in Queensland with the team from the Hub Productions. Rob and I had gone up here the year before for our honeymoon so it was great to go back and now with friends! Well, Carissa organised the trip as a Hub Productions corporate retreat. Despite living in Melbourne for 4 years, we never actually bothered to go to the Formula 1 Grand Prix. This year, as our last in Melbourne, we decided to make the effort and go down to a practice day. It was pretty neat. And excessively loud. You’ll have to excuse the quality of our photography. We’re new to SLR, and are working things out as we go.
